Margo McLaughlin has been living in Toronto since 1980; she is a native of Vancouver.
Her first career was in the private sector, namely managing and marketing in the Shopping Center industry until the early 1990’s. Due to an economic downturn, she experienced multiple job loss which resulted in mental health challenges. This inspired her to study counselling and she later completed a degree in George Brown College as a Human Services Counsellor. While at college she also became interested in natural healing techniques and completed studies in Therapeutic Touch and Reflexology.
After practising reflexology for two years, another calling brought her to become a teacher of Reflexology for the Ontario College of Reflexology in 1997. She has been teaching and practising reflexology happily ever since.
In 2002, she increased her teaching skills to become a Yoga teacher. She completed a 350 hour Classical Hatha Teacher Training at the Yoga Studio in Toronto. She currently teaches Gentle and Dynamic Gentle Yoga at Bliss Yoga Studio in Toronto’s West end and has been doing so since 2005. Yin and Restorative yoga asanas are encorporated in these classes. She have taken three levels of Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Sara Powers at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massechusetts and at the Triyoga Center in London, England. She did a week long intensive Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Bernie Clarke in Vancouver, B.C. She goes regularly to the annual Toronto Yoga Conference to stay current with yoga teaching trends.
Margo does housing support work for two mental health agencies in inner city Toronto in the Homeless Initiatives sectors.
In her free time she enjoys film, travel, more yoga, and catching up on her sleep. Do book a reflexology session with her or attend one of her yoga classes.
